Citation Presence

The Signostic sub-score for the Answer Engine. Reports how often the audited domain appears across a fixed, vertical-specific prompt set on the four major engines. Tracked over time; the proof loop measures delta, not absolute count.

Citation Presence is one of the three sub-scores produced by the Three-Engine Model audit, alongside Schema / Entity Health and Place Signal. It quantifies the audited domain's standing on the Answer Engine.

Method: a fixed prompt set, calibrated to the vertical and region, run against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Gemini. For each prompt the system records whether the domain was named, whether a competitor was named, and the source the engine attributed the answer to.

Reported as: share of prompts citing the domain, share of prompts naming a competitor where the domain was absent, engines weakest-to-strongest, prompt patterns most likely to surface the domain, and prompt patterns the domain is invisible against. The proof loop tracks the delta over time, not the absolute count — what changed once the remediation map was applied.
